The public is welcome at all Council and Committee meetings (including those scheduled for budget purposes).  In order to have the opportunity to speak at a Council or Committee meeting  a delegation must be scheduled with the Clerk. Anyone wishing to view any by-law or agenda document(s) is encouraged to contact the Municipal Clerk on the Friday preceding the Council meeting.

Anyone wishing to view, discuss and/or provide written comments on any by-law (or agenda document) or submit Correspondence for the Council Agenda, he/she shall provide same to the Municipal Clerk at the Municipal Office located at 56 Lindsay Road 5, R. R. #2, Lion's Head, Ontario, N0H 1W0 no later than 12 Noon on the Wednesday preceding the Council Meeting.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO PASS BY-LAW(S):

The following by-law(s) will be tabled for consideration of passage by Council at its regular meeting on Monday, July 10, 2017 in the Council Chambers at 56 Lindsay Road 5, R. R. #2, Lion's Head, Ontario:
By-law No. 2017-29    Being a by-law to set the due dates for the final installments of 2017 Commercial and Industrial Taxes
By-law No. 2017-46    Being a by-law to deem registered plan lots not to be registered [Lots 103, 104 and 105, Plan 470, 16 Jacks Road, (St. Edmunds)]

GENERAL NOTICES

Commercial tax bills will be mailed on July 1, 2017 with the first installment due on July 31, 2017 and the second installment due on September 30, 2017.

Parking Passes--For your convenience, the Municipality will offer extended hours so you may pick a parking pass at the Municipal Office, 56 Lindsay Road 5, as follows:
Friday, July 7, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

If you are a residential property owner or year round tenant in NBP, you qualify for two (2) passes at no cost.  Residents are required to provide the vehicle ownership to obtain a pass.  A photocopy of the ownership is acceptable.  Parking passes are matched with  specific licence plate number which is affiliated with the property owner. 

Decoration Day schedule:
Eastnor Cemetery - Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. 
Please note:  In the event of rain the Eastnor Cemetery service will be held at Central United Church in Lion's Head. 

Temporary Road Closures: 
Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 7:00 to 7:40 p.m. - Bruce County Road 29 from Moore to Scott Street for the Lion's Head Canada Day Parade.
Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. - Bruce County Road 29 from Mill Street north to the corner of Webster Street for the 2017 Lion's Head Homecoming Street Dance.

Effective Friday, March 31, 2017, the rural waste disposal bins and the recycling bins at the Recycling Depots located at 2942 Highway 6, Ferndale and 7045 Highway 6, Tobermory were removed to allow the complete transition to the new curbside waste and recycling collection program.  Recycling depots at Waste Disposal Sites will remain and will continue to accept recyclable materials on a permanent basis.  Residents can still dispose of waste and recyclable materials at a Waste Disposal Site during regular hours of operation plus, for your convenience, the Lindsay Landfill Site is open from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Sundays.  Your continued cooperation and patience is appreciated.  Please contact the Public Works Department if you have any questions or require further information.

Lifetime dog tags have been implemented in NBP.  $30.00 for a spayed or neutered dog and $45.00 for an unaltered dog.  Please purchase your tag now at the Municipal Office.

Scheduling of rentals at the Lion's Head Rotary Hall, 59 Main Street, is being facilitated by the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.  Please contact Cheri Hofstrand at (519) 793-3522, X222 or via email at accountsreceivable@northernbruce.ca for complete details. 

Water sample bottles will be picked up at the Municipal Office on Wednesday at 12:00 Noon.  Water tests should be taken no more than one (1) hour prior to pick-up.

ATTENTION to all groups, organizations and event organizers!  A licence is required to operate a lottery-raffle, 50/50, break open tickets, bingos, etc.  Unlicensed lottery schemes in Municipally-owned facilities are strictly prohibited as stated in the rental agreement.  Please contact the Municipal Office for information.
 


Energy Consumption and Green House Gas Emissions Report

The Ontario Regulation 397/11 under the Green Energy Act 2009 requires public agencies (municipalities, municipal service boards, universities, colleges and hospitals) to report on their energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually beginning in 2013, and to develop and implement a five (5) year Energy Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Plan starting in 2014 and updated every five (5) years.
